She doesn't understand it and finds it curious.
That's what Hillary Clinton says about why people are pushing her to withdraw from the Democratic race. She does understand, however, that Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June.
What that has to do with anything is anybody's guess.
One can only speculate as to why she brought the assassination of Bobby Kennedy into the conversation. Wishful thinking, perhaps, inspired by the Return to '68 movement?
She has, of course, apologized for this outlandish reference that has no bearing on anything.
But one has to wonder, what the hell is going through her mind? Is this fatigue and desperation beginning to show on Senator Clinton's part? Or does she know something and this was an accidental slip? Politics, maybe, an attempt to rattle the mind of her opponent?
I'm going to go with the last option. The Clinton's do nothing, say nothing, without having carefully considered the consequences and all possible outcomes. The Clinton machine carefully orchestrates each public appearance so that they make sure that each word that they say has the maximum political benefit for whatever task is at hand for them.
This has been their history since coming onto the scene as a political power, and I doubt very seriously team Clinton did this just as a Freudian slip.
Just an observation.
